Adamo Software successfully organized Kick-Start Coding Challenges 2022 for react developers. The coding game is a place to test their knowledge and skills.

On 9th, December 2022 Adamo Software successfully organized a coding challenge for development teams. Kick-start coding challenge 2022 is a coding competition for developers from different project teams in Adamo. This coding challenge is for the React developer team. After nearly five hours of testing, twenty-two react developers finished their test successfully.

The Board of Directors held a coding challenge for all dedicated development teams in Adamo. The kick-start coding game is a playful space for developers to test their programming skills and English language skills. Firstly, the coding challenge starts with react development teams, especially front-end developers. Explore what the #1 kick-start coding challenge 2022 looks like, in an IT outsourcing company

How to prepare for competition: #1 Coding challenge in 2022

On the same day, Adamo Software celebrated the third office opening grand. To cheer up the open new office celebration, the Board of Directors organized a coding challenge for developers. The BOD thinks that is a special occasion for us to open a dynamic coding competition.

Additionally, the BODs see that opening a coding challenge is an opportunity for developers. An internal coding game provides a chance to test and evaluate their programming skills and English abilities. An IT outsourcing company has worked in one of the most dynamic industries in the world. Thus, it needs to update technological trends and level up its skills.

Ideas for a coding competition

When it comes to the idea of a coding competition, it starts with a test. Our CEO, Mr. Kevin Nguyen, and CTO, Mr. Henry Ly are always passionate about creating a competitive working environment for all developers. Therefore, they think of a coding test for developers and testers.

First, our CEO wants to evaluate their skills and knowledge through a coding test. However, they came up with a coding challenge. That’s why we have a Kick-start coding challenge in 2022.

Additionally, the idea of a coding competition is gradually becoming more and more interesting for all employees and leaders.

Kick-start coding challenges in 2022 for dedicated development teams

After a few moments to brainstorm, the BOD decided to hold Kick-start coding challenges for 2022. In Adamo, we have lots of dedicated development teams such as React, PHP, Ruby On Rails, Java, etc. Each development team will have an opportunity to take part in the coding challenge with the same format.

When BODs show their ideas of a coding challenge, all developers seem to delight in joining the competition. In the coding challenge, the organizer announces the prizes for the competition. Developers feel so attracted and curious to take part in the coding challenge. In addition, the competition starts with the react development teams. Other development teams also look forward to seeing the format and test of the kick-start coding.

In the Kick-start coding challenge, we have four prizes in total. It includes one First Prize for the best developer, one Second Prize for the first runner-up, and two Third Prizes for the other second runners-up.

What we have in the Kick-start coding challenges 2022: Programming & English

The coding challenge consists of two parts. They are testing skills for developers and English language competency tests (writing and speaking).

Part 1: Test skills for developers

In the first part of the coding challenge, all competitors participate in a paper test. All twenty-two candidates will take a programming skill test, 29 questions in total. All questions include multiple choices, problem-solving, algorithms, etc.

After nearly 20 minutes, all candidates had completed their test for programming skills. Then, they would take a few minutes to break before taking part in the second part.

Part 2: Prove English language competency

React developers would take part in the English language test. It includes two skills: Writing and Speaking. In the writing part, developers would take a test on the paper. The writing test consists of five multiple-choice questions on social and communication skills. Moreover, they had to write formal emails for clients with specific cases.

Additionally, the English writing test is not simply a test of their English abilities. Developers should have a great mindset of problem-solving when writing an email for clients. Furthermore, they would have good communication skills in English. It shows through a few social and communication multiple-choice questions.

When thinking of a format for the coding challenge, the BODs want their developers to test both programming skills and English abilities. Therefore, the BODs design the coding challenge test with two aspects. It pretty much matches with something that developers do in their work.

Moreover, candidates had to go through the English language test of Speaking. In the Speaking session, they would have different speaking cards with various topics. The speaking topics could vary from personal information, weather, shopping, TV programs, etc.

Before testing, developers would choose one of the speaking cards for their speaking test. There are four criteria to evaluate their speaking skills. They are pronunciation, vocabulary, coherence and fluency, and grammar.

React developers would have about one or two minutes to read and think of their speaking topics. After that, they would be face-to-face with an examiner in a private room. When thinking of a coding challenge format, the BODs know that English is key for everything. If you have a good command of English, you are confident in solving problems and boosting your working productivity.

Adamo Software, an IT outsourcing company aims to create dynamic working environments

After five hours of taking a coding challenge, all developers finish both programming skills tests and English tests. The coding challenge organizer speeded up and gave the final coding challenge results as soon as they could.

Last but not least, the Kick-start coding challenge 2022 in Adamo Software found the Top 4 React Developers in the competition. The ideas of coding challenges start from a simple test. The BODs want to evaluate the knowledge and skills of all developers, both programming and English skills.

Furthermore, they want to know which English level they are at. It is helpful for the BODs and project managers to arrange the right developer for the right custom software development project.

A lot more coding challenges in 2023 to await

Besides, our CEO wants to boost the learning spirits of developers across the company. He wants to make our developers know that we are working in the most dynamic and changing industry. So we have to work hard and update the latest technological trends to support our work.

Before the coding challenge, our CTO shared that you should not be stressed right now. All of you should think that the Kick-start coding challenges 2022 is a great opportunity to test your capabilities. “Try your best to complete the competition”, he said.

After the success of the Kick-start coding challenge, Adamo Software will continue organizing coding challenge #2, #3, etc for other software development teams.
